Following the great success of our 2024 event in Erlangen, EBM warmly invites you to “Das Gehirn – Musikalische Erkundungen” on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in the Monastery Church Maria Immaculata, Speinshart.

This extraordinary event blends organ music, science, and visual art in an immersive journey into the human brain. Works by Bach, Pärt, Glass, and Gubaidulina, performed by Susanne Hartwich-Düfel, Director of Church Music at St. Matthäus Church in Erlangen, are complemented by short scientific talks from our spokespersons, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Silvia Budday and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Paul Steinmann, offering insights into brain structure, development, and function.

High-resolution projections from FAU’s media studios bring the brain vividly to life—from 3D scans and microscopic images to color-coded neural pathways—creating a fascinating dialogue between art, science, and the stunning Baroque architecture of Speinshart Monastery.

This is not a traditional concert, but a multimedia experience that is emotionally moving and intellectually inspiring. No prior scientific knowledge is required—designed for music lovers and anyone curious about the brain. The evening opens with a welcome by Abbot Hermann-Josef Kugler and marks the beginning of the long-term collaboration “Science meets Church” between Speinshart Monastery and the Speinshart Scientific Center for AI and SuperTech.

Join us for this unforgettable journey into the brain—an evening where music, science, and visual delight come together!
